17th July 2020 sees the first BBC Dirk Gently radio series get a vinyl release.
Six episodes makes for a triple album with one episode per side with the records in red, yellow and blue.
First broadcast on Radio 4 in 2007 after being adapted and directed by Dirk Maggs the records have exclusive sleeve notes by Dirk.

Long-Awaited Vinyl Re-Release for Record Store Day
Almost the same radio scripts – with fascinating differences – re-recorded for two albums back in the day.
Originally slated to appear in April, but delayed until the 29th of August 2020 due to Record Store Day being pushed back to late summer.
Released by Demon Music, who say:

Following the success of the BBC radio series, Douglas Adams adapted his scripts for these two full-cast albums, with incidental radiophonic music provided by Paddy Kingsland. First released by Original Records in 1980, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and The Restaurant at the End of the Universe star Peter Jones as The Book, Simon Jones as Arthur Dent, Geoffrey McGivern as Ford Prefect and Mark Wing-Davey as Zaphod Beeblebrox.
Now, to celebrate 42 years since the very first radio series, these extraordinary recordings are returning to vinyl for Record Store Day 2020. They’re presented on three heavyweight 180g coloured discs, in a very hoopy, double-sided gatefold sleeve, featuring facsimile reproduction of the original artwork.
Produced by Geoffrey Perkins and Tim Souster, the cast also includes Cindy Oswin, Stephen Moore, Richard Vernon, Valentine Dyall, David Tate, Jim Broadbent, Bill Wallis, Roy Hudd, Frank Middlemass, Stephen Greif and others.”
